Leukemia Notice

KH is excited to announce our Pennies for Patients Fundraiser kickoff, this Monday, February 3rd. Each student will come home with their own collection box and a flyer that explains all of the exciting Hero Gear students can receive by collecting money in their box. This year, we are also encouraging students to set up an online page to receive donations, so that our school can make our biggest impact ever for the Mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Join our squad by clicking on the link: KH Events. When Heroes work together, we change cancer!

Volunteeers Needed

KH Robotics Needs YOU!

Kenneth Henderson will be hosting a qualifying tournament this year on Saturday, February 22nd!

We are in search of volunteers to do the following:  Set up Friday evening, robot check-in, timer/scorekeepers for both the team field and the skills field, concession stand workers, and tear down after the tournament.

We also need impartial judges who will score from a rubric provided.

If you are at all interested, please e-mail Coach Amy Harris at aharris2@gckschools.com.

If you are unable to help, please stop by and see what robotics is all about!

We appreciate your help and support!

KHMS Career Fair

Kenneth Henderson Middle School will host a Career Fair on Friday, February 14th, 2020, which will last from 1:20 p.m. to 2:53p.m. This day will be split into three, thirty minute sessions. We are currently in search of speakers for this event. Attached to this letter you will find a Career Fair Description Form for you to complete if you (or someone you know) are willing to present to our students about your career. Also here is a link to Career Day Speaker Suggestions, which consists of questions to help you in preparing your presentation to our students. Please return the Career Fair Description Form by typing in your responses and emailing it back to Breann Dennis, at bdennis@gckschools.com. Sending us this document will confirm your participation in our Career Fair. Once we receive your participation confirmation, we will contact you with further details of the events. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Breann Dennis at (620)805-8508 or Kellie Pitts at (620)805-8509.

  Friendly Falcon Closet

With the cold weather upon us, we have KH Students in need of warm weather clothing. If you have gently used scarves, gloves, coats, sweaters and hats to donate, the Friendly Falcon Closet would gladly take them! Please bring donations to the counselors’ office or place them in the back of Isabel’s room.

Thank you in advance for helping us meet the needs of our students! For more information, please contact Amy Harris, Isabel Elchuck, or Kellie Pitts, at (620)805-8509.
